Returns & Refunds Policy

Overview

Heritage Stripes is committed to delivering high-quality garments. This policy outlines when returns, exchanges, and refunds are accepted and explains your rights under Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Change of Mind Returns

We do not offer refunds for change of mind, including but not limited to:

  • Incorrect size selection
  • Preference changes after purchase
  • Ordering multiple sizes with the intention of returning some
  • Delivery delays caused by courier services once an order has been dispatched

This applies to full-price items, sale items, and promotional purchases.

Exchanges (Size Only)

We offer size exchanges only, subject to the following conditions:

  • Requests must be submitted within 7 days of delivery
  • Items must be unworn, unwashed, and in original condition with all tags attached
  • Items must be free from marks, odours, or damage
  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs

  • Exchanges are subject to stock availability

If the requested size is unavailable, a store credit may be issued at our discretion. Refunds are not provided for size exchanges.

Faulty or Defective Items (Australian Consumer Law)

You are entitled to a remedy under Australian Consumer Law if a product has a major fault.

A product may be considered faulty if it:

  • Has a manufacturing defect
  • Is significantly different from its description
  • Is unsafe or not fit for its intended purpose

The following are not considered faults:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Minor variations in colour, texture, or stitching
  • Shrinkage or damage caused by incorrect washing or care
  • Minor cosmetic inconsistencies inherent to garment production

Fault Assessment Process

To report a faulty item:

  1. Email info@heritagestripes.com.au within 7 days of delivery

  2. Include your order number, clear photos of the issue, and a brief description

  3. Items must not be worn beyond reasonable inspection

All claims are subject to assessment before a remedy is approved.

Remedies

Where a fault is confirmed, Heritage Stripes may offer, in accordance with Australian Consumer Law:

  • A repair
  • A replacement
  • A refund

The appropriate remedy will be determined based on the nature of the fault.

Sale & Promotional Items

All sale, clearance, and promotional items are final sale unless deemed faulty under Australian Consumer Law.

No refunds, returns, or exchanges are offered for change of mind on these items.

Return Shipping

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is confirmed faulty
  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable
  • We recommend using a tracked return service, as we are not responsible for lost return parcels

Processing Time

Once a return is received and approved:

  • Exchanges are processed within 5–7 business days
  • Refunds (where applicable) are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days

Processing times may vary during peak periods.

International Orders

We do not accept returns or exchanges on international orders, except where required under Australian Consumer Law for faulty goods.

All customs duties, taxes, and international shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer and are non-refundable.

Order Cancellations

Orders cannot be cancelled once dispatched. If you need to amend an order, contact us immediately after purchase. Amendments are not guaranteed.
